The story

Sokito is a football brand built for players, by players.

A football-obsessed brand that’s part of the fabric of the game—not the noise around it. You won’t catch us shouting through pitch side advertising boards—we’re stood in the home end, singing with the fans.

We don’t chase gimmicks, drop fake innovations, or ride the marketing cycle.
Our boots are engineered for peak performance, built to last longer, and made to feel just right from the very first touch.

Purpose-built. Player-backed. Consciously made.

The Highlight Reel

November 2016 - Sokito founder, Jake Hardy, takes a trip to Vietnam where, instead of discovering himself, he finds out how they make brogues. Like every overconfident 20-something he thinks ‘I reckon I could do this for football boots’.

May 2018 - Jake realises pretty quickly that the current way of making football boots is terrible for the environment. Catastrophic, actually. So he makes it his mission to not only make a boot that’s better for the game, but better for the planet, too.

May 2022 - John Bostock enters the scene: the first footballer to invest in Sokito.

August 2022 - After 4 years of development, switching factories, and countless shitty prototypes, the first boots are ready to go. The Devista. Launched on the hottest day of the year, it was a sign of things to come.

November 2022 - 9 more footballers invest into Sokito, including Tom Cleverley, William Troost-Ekong and Luuk De Jong. We host a few events. The hype picks up. And development for our second boot gets started.

January 2024 - AFCON. We launch the Scudetta in a Super-Eagles-inspired colourway. Worn by William-Troost Ekong who takes his team all the way to the final and wins player of the tournament. Safe to say we have people’s attention now.

March 2024 - More footballers join the cause. We now have 67 professional footballers who have invested in the business, wear the boots, and aren’t afraid to do things differently.

August - December 2024 - The Scudetta officially launches to market and wins Unisport’s coveted ‘Boot of the Year’ award. We launch our AFCON colourway for a limited time, which sells out immediately.

January 2025 - We release a Unisport exclusive boot to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Paying homage to the materials in the boot within the design.

"I never meant to start a sustainable company, but the longer I looked into the football industry, the more I realised it had to be done."

Jake Hardy, Founder

How we play different

No animals

When we released the first Devista, we used K-leather, not realising its impact. Now we’ve developed our own methods, we’ve left all animal products behind. Forever. Because a great product shouldn’t come at the expense of a living creature.

Less plastic

Petroleum-based plastic is what most football boots are made out of nowadays. They fuck the planet when they’re made, then fuck it even more when they’re chucked away. We’ve made it our top priority to include as many recycled, natural and bio-based materials as possible. Plus we’ve got a recycled scheme for when the boots are finished.

Minimal bullshit

We don’t chase gimmicks, drop fake innovations, or ride the marketing cycle. Our boots are engineered for peak performance, built to last longer, and made to feel just right from the very first touch. We’re not here to take shortcuts. We’re not following cookie-cutter blueprints. We just built something players won’t shut up about.
